The Hope Squad at Loveland High School in Ohio was honored to receive a generous grant from the Joe Burrow Foundation in recognition of World Teen Mental Wellness Day. Joe Burrow, quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals, has long been an advocate for mental health awareness, and his foundation continues to empower students by providing funding for impactful initiatives.

World Teen Mental Wellness Day is observed annually to highlight the mental health challenges teenagers face, promote well-being, and encourage open discussions about solutions. As grant recipients, Loveland’s Hope Squad organized an engaging school-wide event focused on mental wellness.

Josie, a Hope Squad National Council Member and Loveland student, shared details about the event:

“For World Teen Mental Health Day, we hosted a blow-up obstacle course in the gym during lunch periods to give students a fun way to de-stress during the school day. We also provided new mental health awareness bracelets to serve as daily reminders of the importance of staying hopeful. The bracelets have been a huge hit for the past two years, and we were thrilled to offer an updated set!”

“We also ensured that our special education students had dedicated time to enjoy the obstacle course in a more relaxed environment, making the event inclusive for everyone. It was a huge success!”

The grant allowed Loveland’s Hope Squad to create an event that brought students together and reinforced the importance of mental health in a meaningful and engaging way.

Hope Squad is grateful to partner with organizations like the Joe Burrow Foundation, whose grants help empower our Squads to expand their impact, foster critical conversations about teen mental wellness, and ensure that every student knows they have a support system in their peers.
